Jonathan Webster first married Eunice Shaler or Shailor, of Bolton, Connecticut, October 16, 1759. His second wife was Elizabeth Willcox, of Gilead, Connecticut. He married her at Hebron May 11, 1763.
He is on the list of men (October 25, 1780) raised for six months service during the Revolutionary War and served from July 2, 1780, to January 5, 1781, in the Continental Army. (This service may have been done by his son, Jonathan, Jr.)
Jonathan and his second wife moved to Sandisfield, Berkshire County, Massachusetts, probably during 1767. She was admitted to the Church there September 9, 1770. On November 15, 1793, Jonathan purchased land in Bethlehem, Massachusetts, from Samuel Webster of Hebron, Connecticut.
On June 27, 1796, he sold other property to his son Jonathan, Jr., who also lived at the time in Sandisfield, Massachusetts.
Jonathan's will, dated April 20, 1797, made bequests to "my beloved wife," Elizabeth; "my beloved sons," Jonathan, Ebenezer, and Joel; "my beloved daughters," Eunice, Elizabeth, Martha. He ordered land in Bethlehem to be sold and appointed his son Ebenezer sole executor. He died at Sandisfield between March 20 and June 6, 1797.
